Lupron, Day 1
I have been on the birth control pills for 19 days now and just took my first Lupron shot (10IU) this morning. Other than the tingling that I have in my left hand, I feel fine - but am prepared for the worst. I read in the side effects that if you have tingling in your extremities, to call the doctor right away but so far I am not 100% convinced that it came from the meds. I could have slept on it wrong, after all. I guess we shall see what tomorrow brings.
I was completely prepared mentally to administer the shot to myself this morning, or so I thought. It didn't help that the husband was standing there waiting for me to do it so that if I couldn't, he would take over. Previously, when I have given myself the injections, I found that I can slowly insert the needle and it goes in nice and smooth. This time however, not so much. Though, I do think the fact that I went a little low on the abdomen made a difference. Tomorrow I will grab all the nice, good fat surrounding my belly button. I foresee that having a better outcome.
I am in a better place than yesterday. Got a good nights sleep and ready to conquer the day. Part of the crankiness yesterday may have also been left over from the crap that I had to deal with the night before with my bank when the pharmacy was trying to send out my meds and my debit card kept getting declined. Apparently, my debit card somehow lost the account that it is attached to and gives the decline code that there is no link. This happened once before and BOA didn't know how to fix it. They wound up closing out my account and transferring my money to a new one and sending me a new card. While I was on vacation in FL. That was a good time. So, I have decided that we are done with BOA. I am done with their customer service reps that are either rude or just don't know how to do their job. Once I have the time and energy, I will be finding a local credit union and transferring our funds there. Screw you, BOA. Luckily, everything turned out fine and the nice UPS man waited for a few minuted after his normal pick up time from the pharmacy to allow me time to transfer money to another account and give them a different debit card. That was a close one.
I just realized that I have an appointment with my RE this afternoon for the physical that is required for this IVF cycle, which is good because I will mention the tingle sensation to her then. Hopefully that will be done in time for me to make it to my Sculpt & Tone and Zumba classes. I want to get them in as much as I can now because I am going to take it easy once the stims kick in, through the beta.
So, it is all actually happening. It seemed so far away 6 months ago and the time is finally here. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
