Beta Day

So, it's here. The day that we will find out the results of this long awaited IVF cycle. I am nervous, but filled with hope. I am also scared.

For now, I will update you on the wonderful weekend that J and I had!

Saturday morning we got up nice and early and J took me to a cute little jewelry store where I got to pick out 2 charms! and 2 locks! for my new Cham.il.ia that Mom so generously got me for Christmas. It looks marvelous now.

We then hit up the farmers market and scored some delicious Honey Crisp apples, beautiful bright orange carrots, more of the world's most delicious pesto and a granola scone from a delicious bakery in Providence. I was disappointed that they didn't have any of the actual packaged granola (the stuff is like crack) and I am actually tempted to drive to Providence to pick some up this week.

From there, it was up to MA to check into our hotel room, rest and get ready for our friends wedding. Can I just say how nice it is to attend a wedding where you walk downstairs to get to the ceremony, out to the corridor for the cocktail hour, then into another room off of that corridor for the reception? Of course, walking up the stairs to go to bed isn't so bad, either.

Since J "gave" me my V-Day gift on Saturday, I decided to give him his as well. He was thrilled. Tickets to see Phil Lesh and Bob Weir play in Amherst next Friday. It will be a long drive up and back, but I figured it was worth it for the Dead's number one fan.

Sunday we drove out to Deerfield to the Yankee Factory Store. Holy hell. That place is madness. Apparently, we decided to go on one of the weekends that they are holding their warehouse clearance sale (mainly Christmas items) so it was PACKED.
I actually found myself comparing it to Ikea on a Saturday afternoon. There are numerous different stores or sections all connected and you totally get lost walking through it. There is an entire section in the middle dedicated to Christmas. There is actually snow falling from the ceiling at one point and numerous villages, x-mas trees and ornaments everywhere. I can't imagine what that place must be like in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

We found a new scent that we agreed on and purchased a candle. We also purchased some marinade and meat rub that looked pretty delish. Then we braved the warehouse where they were actually hosting karaoke and you would receive a free candle is you sang. Needless to say, the "background music" was pretty awful. We did find some reed oil diffusers that smell really nice while we were there at a good discounted price - so we scooped up those as well.

From there it was on to Montague to visit a little eclectic place that J's brother manages. It is in an old mill house next to some beautiful falls. They serve cool micro-brews, delicious teas and "intrinsically delicious food". We splurged on some peanut ginger udon noodles topped with broccoli, diced beets and crushed peanuts. To.Die.For.

Finally, we headed back and got to the homestead around 6:30 and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Yesterday was filled with a trip to Who.le Fo.ods, Sh.aws, and an appliance center going out of business. I swear they jack up those prices a good 40% before they "clearance" them out at 20-30% off. We didn't make any purchases.

So, there you have it folks. How J and I spent our time for the past three days trying to distract ourselves from the storm of emotions and gazillion questions coming from our brains in anticipation of today's test result.

Will I get any work done today? My guess is absolutely not.
